Para pro assessment test

Hello, I live in Rhode Island and If you ask your school district they should have a list where the test will be. Have you heard how hard/easy the test is? Please post if you have any information. Thanks!

Where are the places for test

your superintendant should have told you about the test and also given you an example of the test like about 50 questions that are like what are going to be on it ? Did you not receive this?I think it's crap we have to take this when I was hired on all I was required to have was a diploma and take a test, We all need to start a union for the parapro's if we don't have one already????

about where to take the test

we were told at our school where I work that it would be given somwhere in the school where you work ,as far as how hard, the girls who have taken it say it's on college level and it was hard I disagree with us even having to take it anyway , mickeytn

Para pro assessment test

Hi mickeytn, I have heard from aides in other states and they have said the para pro test was not that hard. They felt is was on a 4th grade level. One aide said she felt she was dumber than dirt and passed it. She said that all the aides in her school passed it and a lot of them have been out of high school for 30 years (myself, included)! If I get any more info, I will post.

How hard the test is.....

The booklet we got had geometry and algebra on it that is not 4th grade level also, it went into math I had never seen, I am in the title I program, I just wish there was something we could do.

para pro assessment test

Hi I just ordered the para pro assessment study guide from the company that is putting out the test. Hopefully it will give me guidelines on what to study. I am very afraid of the math, which I was never good in in school. The only saving grace on the test is the fact that it is multiple choice and that you can take it over and over again. I will post as soon as I get the study guide to let you know how it was. It was $25.00. Keep posting!

Where are the places for test

We get our study guides free the "super" is bringing ours next week, I am suprised you didn't get your's free also???? Well let me know what is in it, I too dread the math part, but I think everyone is gonna freat so bad over the math that we forget to study for the english or not try as hard on that! :? We just need to pray hard I guess  mickeytn

Para pro assessment test

Hi! Another tip we were told was to start reading a lot more and when you are reading (say a newspaper article) ask yourself why this is happening. Our union rep has taken the test and she said what could also help is to go to your local Staples and pick up a 4th or 5th grade math workbook just to jog your memory on fractions etc. I know I will end up having to take this test more than once. I am afraid I am going to get nervous and forget things. Keep posting! I am very much trying to keep this in perspective. Right now here in Rhode Island we have had a terrible tragedy at a night club fire with 96 perished. My worries about a test are minute compared to the families of these poor souls.

studying for test

ya I heard about the tragedy sorry to hear it also. I have old books I go at our library the had a book sale one year and I said this would be good for my son to study at home too little did I know that I would need them! Ha I also go to education .org to copy study papers that helps too. theres no doubt we probably will all have to take it over but at least they give us chances I just hate that if you pass the english and fail the math that you still have to take it all over again!!!!! mickeytn

Para pro assessment test

Hi, I just received our union newsletter today and they had a list of websites to go to to help study. I will give you the list: English: www.iss.stthomas.edu/studyguides, math: www.aplusmath.com, www.algebrahelp.com. I have not gone to these websites yet so I don't know how they are.

Hey I have a question what is the name of your union? You said you "guy's" were in a union and I was just wanting to know the name of it? mickeytn

Para pro assessment test

Hi, I just received today the para pro assessment test study guide which I ordered for the ETS company that will make the test. It looks pretty good. I can give you the 800 number to order the book. It is $25.00. Seems well worth it.The number is 1-800-537-3161. They are open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. This guide seems very helpful. It has sample tests in it. In our school district we belong to the NEA.

test

I work In NY and have taken the required test and passed it. Not sure if the test is the same in every state but I thought it was fair. There was algebra on the test but I don't feel it was that difficult considering I have been out of school for 20 years. My teenage daughter helped me. We were given sample questions to look at but that was all. Make sure you study, read your questions carefully, (some were tricky) and take your time. We were given 3 hrs and I took 1 1/2. It was 100 multiple choice questions and your score was out of a possible 300 points. Not sure how they figured that one but I passed and am relieved it's over. Now I can take classes on my own terms. Good luck to you all. Donna
