Wage if I have a degree

If I am a paraprofessional who has just earned a BA. degree isn't my district required to pay me a higher wage?
Thanks, Theresa

para wages
I doubt it. Paras are paid by union scale in my area. We are all "highly qualified" paraprofessionals at the school I work in and as such should be paid more than we are!!
Becoming a Paraeducator
What is the best way to get information on what is required to become a paraeducator? I already have a BS degree. Should I contact the local school district?
Thanks,
Suzanne
Hi
Anyone interested in having a constructive conversation about life as a Para?
Testing, testing, 1...2...3!
paraeducators in WA
I am a current paraeducator in the Puget Sound area. Looking to get certified, but the college programs seem to be dissappearing, does anyone know where there are good programs, esp. online??!!
Teacher certification for Paras
City University is partnering with OSPI to offer an Alternative Route to Teacher Certification for Paras who have worked as paras for at least 3 yr. It is a special program designed for the working para. It is funded by a grant with forgivable loans. If you work in any area of sped for 2 years the loan is forgivable. It'a an awesome opportunity. Check it out @ www.cityu.edu or the NEA website or OSPI.
