Vocational/Special Ed

I am a para working in a vocational/special ed center. We have a variety of programs our students can participate in such as auto service, hospitality & construction. Since we are work base much of our time is spent off-campus at job sites supervising/job coaching students. Recently our district undertook an effort to "streamline" job descriptions and has basically lumped all paras into very limiting tracks. For instance, there is very little to distinguish us from individuals working in ece classrooms or other "more traditional" roles. In addition, due to some being grandfathered in, many of our teachers lack four year degrees or have vocational certification. Consequently many of the paras have undergrad or working towards grad degrees. Has anyone else experienced a similar situation? Thanx
