In Chapter 7 (and sprinkled throughout the book) we include experiences shared by paraeducators all over the USA who responded to a survey which was posted on the NRC web site last year. Over 200 paras responded! An emerging role that was noted by approximately 10% of the respondents is their responsibility to deliver researched best practices such as required in a Response to Intervention (RtI) approach. Listen to what a respondent from Illinois wrote, “Our district uses RtI. We have used the ‘six minute solution’ in reading that is very effective. We have resources that push in and pull out as needed.”
