State Of Ohio

I have taken my ParaEducator Praxsis test and passed it. I am not working in that classification at the moment. I took the test to expand my ability to look for employment. However, the Ohio Dept. of Education cannot tell me a thing about my license/certification. Can someone tell me who I can talk to that can help me with additional requirements to maintain my licensure. I am involved in professional development on an ongoing basis. I am employed by a private school and work mainly in what could be titled a Case Managers postion/Parent Mentor. I want to work with Autistic Children and have 100's of hours of training. I am working on getting trained in ABA.

Any direction that someone could point me to get information would be helpful.

Thanks,
Maureen Hughey

Parapros

I would like information about how I can get more involved on the State Level as a Paraprofessional. I would like to be able to be the liason between my School District and the State of Ohio. Also, I would like to introduce the Parapfoessional Organization into my School District. Any information I could get would be awesome. Thanks very much.

ParaPro

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one having this problem. I took the test and passed it, but the Ohio Department of Education can't tell me how to get my certificate. Is there anyone who DOES know???

ODE ParaPro Certificate

I keep getting directed to the MR/DD board. However, they are so busy that no one has ever returned my phone calls. With the overwhelming need for ParaPro's for the children with ASD you would think someone would have an answer. I also have gleaned that in Ohio, only Title I bldgs. use ParaPros

Out of State & Highly Qualified

I have recently moved from Michigan (hsband transfered) to Ohio and am trying to find out if my Work Keys test which was requied in Michigan will hold any water in Ohio. Do I have to also take the Praxis test to be considered highly qualified here? I will subbing in Clinton county this year but only applied for the standard permit (which we did not have in Michigan) so I am a bit confused. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Alma
