Reauthorization of IDEA

Hi Jars! The rumors are quite solid ones by my understanding. I attended the National Para Conference here in Mpls in May. I attended a session addressing the new requirements for Title para and was told in this session that IDEA is looking at following what Title did, make changes. As to what those changes will be for special education paraprofessoionals will be - I quess we will have to wait. I also can share with you that several states, colleges and school districts have in place or are working on programs and training that should help with meeting the new requirements. Check around - if you are in Minnesota I do have some informtion of possible places you can check with as far a going thru a para certificate proram. Liz :lol:
