Re: Paraeducator in An Alternitive School

Is there any difference in the role of A Paraeducator in an alternative school setting? Grades 1-12 are taught in the school.

alternative schools

I currently work 18-21 year olds with various disabilities, out of a house, for a large school district. We do budgeting, menu planning, grocery shopping everything to be as successful as they can when they move into their own apartments or group homes. Bus schedules can be hard to do in the beginning but after awhile ... So yes it is different because there are a lot more teachable moments, you use all applied knowledge or just adapt. This is so more appropriate than high school. Good luck!
