Para's in the Highly awarded School District in North Pittsburgh (check Womans Day Magazine), are paid less then the secretarial staff and custodial staff but are required to have an Associates degree and also work the same schedule as Teachers. Not only that they recieve only half compensation for Health benefits for Individuals only. How is that fair?
We have the same confidentiality agreement but yet we are treated well to be honest like S***. we have ben told we can do what ever we are told to do or leave!!!!!. Not much to say about a District that was in Woman" Day. I am thankful my children did not attend this District.
I will tell you what I make....10.71. I am a teacher's asistant. However, you can get paid more if you are in english as a second language or special educational positions. I hope this helps. YOur local TEA or education Association should know.
