pay raise

I would like to know what the pay scale is for the para-professionals in Louisiana; Washington, Tangipahoa, St. Tammany, St. Helena, Livingston, and East and West Baton Rouge Parishes are to make a comparision. This would help me make a decision about my employment. Thanks![/b]

Go to Canada and be a paraprofessional there. They pay over 20 bucks an hour. I'm absolutely disgusted with the parapro pay as well as the sub pay here in Georgia (avg. 70 dollars/day) vs. many provinces in Canada where they pay at least 130/day and that is the lowest. Over 200 in Calgary, Alberta for extended work. No stupid replies about the taxes. 130/day is a take home of 95/day.

In Georgia, you need 2 years of college, but only get paid one third of the pay a teacher gets. No lunch or you have to take it with the students. Teachers get a free period.

Parapro Pay

I don't know about the other states but in Georgia it is about $12000 per year. And IF you start in the middle of the year like me they automatically pay you less. It is pretty bad especially when you deal with children with disorders who verballt attack you ALL day. But hey, other than that it's just great!
