Oklahoma Requirements

I am a Para, in a small community, in NW Oklahoma. This is my second year at my job. I have 2 young boys in our school system, and although I do not make very much money...I am out of school any time my boys are, which means I never have to pay for child care, and I have lots of quality time with them! I would love to make more money, but I look at it this way: our teachers in Oklahoma are extreamly under paid, so why would we expect to be paid good! I LOVE my job, as well as the child that I work one on one with. The special ed teacher that I work under is an inspiration, she gives her all to each child she works with and sets a good example for her Para's.  I agree, in some cases, para's are over worked & taken advantage of (I can honestly say, I am not) but the bottom line is, we are a saftey net to the children we work with, and the love we aregiven from our children, is more than any salary could buy!
