If you are a teacher assistant or paraprofessional in North Carolina, please consider joining the North Carolina Association of Teacher Assistants, or NCATA. We are the only statewide association dedicated exclusively to Teacher Assistants. You can read more about us on our web site, www.teacherassistants.org.
We need every teacher assistant in NC to join this organization, in order to maintain a strong voice for the profession.
We want to hear your thoughts and opinions about being a teacher assistant in NC. We are here to help you! Don't hesitate to call us if you have questions or need further information. We can be reached toll-free at 1-800-979-2077. Thank you!
How to Start a Teacher's Assistant's Association
Dear Association, I once worked in the state of NC as a teacher's assistant for 13 years. I had to relocate to AL for family reasons. The benefits here are a far cry from benefits in NC. We do not have any workshops. We have a little something they call staff development but is not. And no related job training for assistants. Also the pay is a disgrace. We do not feel valued here. What can we do to improve things here? How could we start our own association, one that would look out for our best intrest and the children?
Become a Teacher Assistant
I have been trying to get some info on classes that I can take to help me become a teacher assistant. Does anyone know the steps I will need to take in order to do this?
Thanks
