Need schooling

HELP! I am interested in trying to become a paraprofessionl, but have been unable to locate a school locally that has the training. Can someone in ALABAMA please contact me with the proper information concerning an accredited school for paraprofessionals in my area? The Birmingham,Alabama area?

I am currently in Alabama, I have been told that I would need either a cda or at 120 hrs, and the classes towards this particular certificate are given at Shelton State Community College, I am in the boligee area now, but I reside in tuscaloosa...

When I was hired as a para pro in Alabama it was when the new NCLB law went into effect. Here in Alabama you have to have your Associate Degree (what I have), 2 years of college or have passed the assement test for certification.

check into the para pro assement I know in oklahoma it worked for all of us at my school. you can jump online and search it out the study guide is not that much to buy and the test is a breese , well let me know if I can help ya anymore , Ms JL
