On March 6th, 2008 Linda J. Bush (not verified) says:
I have been in contact with the State Director of Special Education for the State of Kansas concerning the State Conference we used to have. She was very interested in having this again. The last I heard from her she was looking into finding somone from the State Department to be in charge. I let her know that I would do any thing I could to help get it going again.

I would also help. I am in SW Kansas so anything I can do let me know. I know of some paras who would be very interested in a conference, I would be happy to spread the word.
I would be interested in finding out more if a conference is planned. It would be nice if it was in June or July, when we're not in school. Truly some kind of an organization is needed if we are ever to be respected and paid appropriately.
I would be interested in a state conference in the summer. I am also seeking respect, realistic pay, benifits that increase with time, and job security. I think paraprofessionals should have a voice at the state and district levels. Special education is changing rapidly and we are being effected without being heard from. Do other states have unions that accept paras? How can we start a union in Kansas?
