Job Title. Para not Aide

We recently hired a new Superintendent in our school district. He insists on calling us "Aides" and not "Paraeducators."

On a day to day basis we really aren't concerned with what we are called, we know what we are and what we do. Having said

that it is bothering us that our administration won't acknowledge that there is a difference between the two.

Can someone please help me define the difference and if there are sources I can refer to please let me know.
