Is it possible to apply a ParaProfessional Certification towards attaining a teaching certificate in Illinois?

Hello,

I am currently a licensed paraprofessional in the state of Illinois and am actively researching any/all options for applying this certification

ttowards attaining a teaching certificate.  My first question is, is this even an option and if so, can someone please direct me to the  

appropriate information centers?

I would also be interested to know if/how paraprofessional certification can be applied toward teacher certification.
