Hi all! I am new here & have a few ?'s re: Associates De
Hi,
First of all I stumbled upon this website & I am so happy that I did. It will be nice to be able to get some information in regards to the new qualifications for Teacher Assistants. Reading the posts it kind of helps to see that I am not alone & others have the same questions as myself. I have not had much luck with having my questions answered where I live. I am from Rhode Island & we have the choice of getting an associates degree (2yrs. of higher education) or taking this test. I am looking into trying to find some training to prepare for the test but what I really would like to do is............ I don't know if any of you have ever heard of ASHWORTH COLLEGE in Georgia?? They have an Associate's Degree program in Early CHildhood Education. It is a nationally accredited long distance learning curriculum. So they mail everything you need to your home & you mail everything back & so fourth. I would really like to do this, but I am not sure if it will meet the State & Federal requirements. I do live in Rhode Island so I don't know if they will accept this degree because it is out of state. I tryed to contact my local Department Of Education on this & a few other places, but no one can answer my question. Would anyone happen to know if an associates degree through this type of at home learning would be accepted?? Or who I could contact to find out? I don't want to enroll & get started in case they decide not to accept it. I would really appreciate any information anyone would have on this matter. Thank you & looking forward to hearing from someone. :D
