Getting hired/cover letter

Hi, I've been working in video production for 5 years, and am now looking at para professional jobs. I'm stuck on the letters of interest. Does anyone have a good template for a para cover letter, or an example of one?

Thanks, Josh

Thank you Richard. I'm a little hesitant to open a can of worms in the cover letter, but the reason why I want to work with people with special needs has to do with my own healing. I've had a very limiting foot problem for 5 years, and in the last year I've made some progress with healing it through holistic measures. Now I'm seeing that working directly with people in need could feel very rewarding. And it's also out of empathy because I know how it feels to have a disability.
Do you think it would be wise to mention this?

Josh:
Stress any previous experience working with kids (church, camp counselor, etc) and your experience with special needs kids in your family, among your acquaintances or even in classes when you were a student. Mention why you think you would enjoy working to help these kids succeed and become more independent. If there was something less satisfying about video production say what it was. Stress your people skills.
