Bidding

I would like to know if a amy EA or SEA in Mpls put in a bid this summer and got no response from it? We are only able to move at the July bidding time which is now online only. It was a easy process and everything worked out fine. Until July came and went and no response from anyone. My attempts to contact either the school or 807 either came up with no reponse back or I was told when the principles came back they would contact me. My calls to the school were unreturned.
Long story short Sept came and since that time I have found out the following:
1> we put in our bid
2> At the end of bidding the Principles pull their list
(on line only) for their school.
3> from the list the principle hires or interviews and hires.
What a great Plan! With school closings and so much movement in programs recently it gives us a chance to bid where we have experience
and training and gives the principle the opportunity to find the right person for the right job.
Too bad at most schools this summer it did not work that way. If the principle at the school did not print off their list and do their part
your bid was trashed.......The position was still open and was filled from a pool of people who either had no placement in august or was a new hire.
My plan is to bring this up to the union and the district so this does not happen again this summer. I could use any feedback from others that this may have happened to, even if you did not realize it.
I was not given correct info about what happened until I pushed for it and my union has never gotten a correct response. thank you Mary

I was interested in knowing what you meant by bidding. If you belong to a union haven't you seniority rights?
