Presenter/s

Description

Patrick breaks down the essential components of autism and visually displays them in a simple way one can not forget. Beyond discussing how autism effects learning, Patrick puts each attendee in the shoes of someone with autism through his hilarious and eye opening simulation. This exercise has even brought some audience members to tears in recognizing their previous ignorance about the disability. But attendees are not left to wonder what to do in the face of such challenges. Patrick will then link deficits to research based interventions. With years of experience in the field, he will show many examples of what appropriate interventions look in the classroom, on the playground, on the bus, and in the cafeteria. Finally, it will end with a passionate plea to keep on enduring for these great kids, they are worth it. People are guaranteed to walk away informed and inspired! This class is a must!
